Background Information

Steve Porter SPT provides a range of practical products, which support companies in scientific, technical and medical industries. Steve Porter formed the Company as a training and marketing consultancy in 1991 after a twenty-year involvement with medical and scientific companies. Recruitment was added in 1997.

Steve started with Abbott Laboratories as a salesman in 1979 and progressed through various sales and marketing positions to become General Manager of the Diagnostics Division in 1985. He subsequently spent four years at the European headquarters in Germany before returning to the UK to establish SPT in 1991.

Steve Porter James Porter joined the company in 2005, after completing an MSc in Behavioural Ecology. James was initially with SPT on a temporary basis, updating the client database, but was soon offered a permanent role in its recruitment business. He now also manages the website and is involved in the marketing.

The SPT philosophy is to provide tools that can be used directly by its clients to enhance their business. This is achieved by a thorough understanding of the marketplace and is maintained by developing a long-term relationship with each client. This has proved to be a winning formula. Since 2002 we have worked with over 80 companies, most on a regular basis.
