Field Service Engineer
Role Description
These roles involve preventative maintenance and repair of instruments located in laboratories. This equipment is generally a combination of optical, electronic and electromechanical systems. Territories are large and you will be required to travel around 35,000 or more business miles. The ability to interact well with customers and colleagues is essential and is an aspect, which will feature highly in all interviews. Qualifications required are a BTEC, HNC or equivalent engineering qualification. Experienced Field Service Engineers with alternative qualifications and electronic/electromechanical experience are encouraged to apply.

We’re looking for an additional Field Service Engineer to join a stable service team in a company that is growing well. Work with instruments that are automated equipment found in hospital pathology labs and are electromechanical. There’s also equipment used in industrial laboratories. All of the instruments are laboratory instruments with both mechanical and electronic components and are full automation. The territory is large, covering Ireland and there’s some responsibility in Scotland. You will need at least two years experience with electromechanical equipment and a qualification to support this. This world-renowned multinational is looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join their UK & Ireland team, servicing complex electromechanical automation in scientific and medical laboratories. This is a lead technical specialist role, so as well as routine preventative maintenance and repairs, they also require someone who can act as a point of escalation for the other service engineers. Whilst this is very much a 'hands-on' role, you will also have responsibility for leading the service team, and ensuring quality of technical service for the company's customers throughout the UK & Ireland.
