Scientific Sales Specialist
Role Description
For the most part, we recruit people who are new to sales. All of the positions have a high technical content and typically require experience in a relevant laboratory/hospital unit and at least an HNC/degree or equivalent and sometimes a PhD. The ability and aptitude to sell is very important. Companies range from small start-up's with one or two sales people covering the whole of the UK to large well established companies with comparatively small territories. All of the companies will provide extensive product and sales training. You can anticipate driving around 35,000 miles a year though this varies considerably, being less in the London area and perhaps more in Scotland/North of England. You will need to be able to get along with others and work in a team but also be comfortable spending a large part of the day on your own.

600, International Key Account Manager - Microscopy
An exciting and rewarding International Key Account Manager position with a global leader in the manufacture and development of fluorescence light sources & supplies for microscopy (research and industrial applications) in the Life Science & Biotechnology sectors. Their light-based technologies are well known and highly respected in North America, Europe, the Middle East, China, Japan and Australia.
They are now searching for a Key Account Manager/ International to lead growth; by managing and developing business relationships with key channel partners, mainly within Europe, but also in both the rest of EMEA and Asia. Working largely autonomously, you will manage key accounts and be responsible for achieving sales targets and increasing market share. You will be involved in the development of customer plans including all trade related activities. You will implement strategies, execute activities and evaluate promotions results. In addition, you will be involved in sales forecasting, business reviews, performance reviews, trading terms negotiation and sales planning with channel partners.
You must have proven skills in the areas of sales, business development and key account management in order to be successful in this position. You should be degree qualified with at least 3-5 years experience in Sales and Key Account management; preferably within the healthcare / life sciences industry. Travel is expected to be 50% of the time, to meet with channel partners and key accounts. This may be greater depending on your location.

599. Technical Sales Specialist - Tranmission Electron Microscopy
This position is with the world leader in providing specialized Scanning Probe Microscopy systems designed to work with Transmission Electron Microscopes These unique SPM-TEM instruments provide unprecedented opportunity to combine 3-dimensional nanomanipulation, STM and AFM imaging and in-situ electrical and mechanical measurements with simultaneous high resolution TEM imaging. The customers are mostly universities and research institutes, but also research departments at larger companies.
They are looking for a person with a wide network in the electron microscopy market, and should preferably have at least 5 years of experience with Sales in this field. The work includes exhibitions at conferences and giving product talks, demos at customer site, technical discussions with customer in helping them finding the best solution, and of course giving feedback to the R&D department. The planning of trips is made by the Sales Person, and in a typical year amounts around 50-100 days of travel. The applicant should also have an understanding of how TEM works, and should preferable also have the knowledge on how to run one. Knowledge about any SPM techniques is highly beneficial.
